How to view a video cast - Downloading or vodcasting

1. Download

Downloading your vodcast allows you to save the vodcast file onto your computer. You can then listen to this whenever you want and it also allows you to transfer the file onto your portable MP4 player or iPod.

In order to download the vodcast file, click on the link using the button on the right hand side of your mouse and select the ‘save as’ option (or a similar option containing the word "save" – depending on your computer and settings). You should now be able to save the audio file to your computer. Remember to save it to a folder you'll be able to find again later.

If you prefer to listen to the audio file without having to download it, then click on the Download link using the left hand button on your mouse and the audio will play. Usually your default media player will open and the audio will start playing automatically.

2. Vodcast

Vodcasting is something very similar to subscribing to a magazine – it basically lets you automatically receive the latest vodcast of your selected audio file as soon as it becomes available.

In order to sign up for a vodcast you need to be connected to the internet. You will also need specific software (vodcast software) that automatically checks for new vodcasts from your specified series and downloads them for you. Vodcast software is usually available to download free of charge.
